Lighting up our classroom

This week guest blog by Oliver, Adair and Mason.

We made torches with real circuits and bulbs which was really fun. We managed to make the bulbs light up using batteries, a lamp, a switch and wires.

You can make a torch with cardboard tubes and paper cups.

How to make a torch

    1. Cut a paper cup
    2. Paint the the tube and the cup. Cover the inside with tin foil to reflect the light.
    3. Make a circuit by getting a battery pack. Connect a wire and a bulb then connect a switch. Make sure the wires are connected and not touching the plastic or it won’t work.
    4. Then you have a simple circuit that you can put inside your torch.
