If you are interested in finding out about a place for your child please get in touch. We will not be offering open days in the Autumn Term 2020, but can arrange individual visits to the school.
Our admission policies can be found below, the date refers to the year in which a school place is applied for:
We will be consulting on our admission arrangements for 2022/2023 through Devon County Council. The consultation will be live between 9 December 2020 and 19 January 2021. If you wish to find out about our policy or make any comment, please visit this page. The policy for consultation can be found at the bottom of this page; there are no substantial changes in our policy. More information is also available through Plymouth City Council.
We admit children who live in both Devon and Plymouth local authorities as we are on the edge of the local authority boundaries; families apply through their home local authority according to their address and our admissions are processed by Plymouth Admissions.
If you wish to apply for a place at Sparkwell as an in-year admission (that is, not the start of Reception year) you need to complete a form with Plymouth admissions, not direct to the school. Please note that as we are a school in Devon, you do not need to complete Section 4 ('Fair Access'). You can visit Plymouth Admissions' website here and Devon Admissions here. If you find all this confusing just give us a call!
Parents of children leaving us at the end of Year 6 choose a range of secondary schools, including Grammar Schools and schools in Plympton, Ivybridge and further afield. We are listed as a feeder Primary school for Ivybridge Community College, but all our children in the last few years have received their first choice place at a range of schools.
