Tracey Bruce

I live in Ivybridge with my husband, three daughters and various pets. I am a Montessori teacher with many years experience and am passionate about Early Years education. In particular I have an interest in individualised and inclusive education which enables each child to progress and to be enthusiastic about their own learning.

I co-own Montessori Nurseries in Sparkwell and Ivybridge and it has been wonderful to see some of the children from the Sparkwell nursery continuing to progress through their education in the school. My current interests are; studying and I am presently studying for an Early Years degree, running a local Guides Senior Section Rangers Unit, belonging to a reading group and running. I enjoy spending time with my family and walking our dog.

I have been a school governor since March 2013 and have found it to be very interesting and rewarding. It is a privilege to be involved in a project which is innovative, recognises the individuality of children and aims to be an integral part of the local community. My main responsibilities as a governor are Safeguarding, Children In Care, Equality, Early Years Foundation Stage and Special Educational Needs.
