What's inside my body?

posted 28 Jan 2017, 11:20 by Jenny Sparkes
This week we were very lucky to have a visit from Reuben's dad to talk to us about being a surgeon. He gave the children some fantastic information about what is inside their body. Can you remember how long an adult bowel can be stretched out to?  The children really enjoyed looking at what a surgeon wears, at an x-ray and all sorts of facts about things that normally adults don't mention!!! Thank you Adam for coming in and helping the children with their learning. (standing on your head and drinking was impressive!)
The Year Ones have been using non-fiction texts this week and have started to make their very own interactive non-fiction texts and the Year Twos have written super stories showing all of the writing skills we have been working on recently.
On Wednesday afternoon we all went to the old school to do gymnastics and RE (not at the same time). I had a lovely time watching the children challenge themselves in gymnastics and could see them really trying hard to develop and improve.
This week you should have had information about how you can support maths development at home and could I put in another plea for reading. Also PE is Tuesday and Wednesday and it is essential that the children have kit in on those days. I cannot let children do gymnastics if they don't have their PE kit in school (for safety reasons)
