Week 3: Amazing Archaeology

This week we began to learn about how archaeologists excavate artefacts. The children watched some film clips to show them how to carry out a dig and then went and carried out their own exploration of the sand pit. Some children did some very careful sketches of artefacts using only pencils and a sketching hand.
On Wednesday we had a lovely time looking at all of the wonderful timelines that the children made for their first Home Learning challenge. Well done to all of the children (and parents) for their super projects.
The children have demonstrated their spelling skills and this weekend they have brought home their spellings to learn as well as a small piece of maths.

For Friday's forest school several children were not fully forest school ready. Even though it was quite dry at school the forest school site was quite damp. As the weather gets more unpredictable please ensure that the children have full waterproofs (jacket and trousers), wellies and a jumper for the woods and a complete change of clothes for in school afterwards including socks and underwear.

Finally, on Friday we said a sad goodbye to Mr Norrie our wonderful sports coach and my 'wing man'. We wish him a very happy time in his new role and hope that he may pop back at some point.
