Super Science Times Two

This week the children have been learning about multiplication in maths and learning about counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. The Year Ones have been learning about grouping and counting whilst the Year Twos have been learning to solve problems related to their tables. On Wednesday the children had a super afternoon exploring science. It was really wonderful to see and hear the children's enthusiasm for science which came across in our museum planning discussions as well. In particular it was lovely to see how many girls were excited by science and were even talking about being scientists when they grow up. (I really hope this stays with them) The Year Ones were exploring reversible changes through investigating chocolate, ice lollies and separating objects from sand using tools. The Year Twos continued to develop their observation skills and mixed solutions to explore salt crystals.
Next week we will be starting to build our class museum. You should have received a letter telling you about your child's area of interest.

A date for your diary- Please keep the afternoon of 1st December free. This will be our big museum afternoon. Please bring along grandparents, siblings, neighbours, uncles and aunties as well! You will be receiving invitations and information leaflets from the children soon.
