 Being serious!
Everything looks red!

This week we had a really wonderful day at Saltram House and were blessed with the most incredible weather. It is hard to believe that the tree picture was taken in October.
The staff at the house were incredible and laid on a series of really fantastic learning experiences. The children found out what it would be like to live 'below stairs' and in particular the poor scullery maid. The explored kitchens, pastry rooms, the scullery and then eventually were allowed upstairs to view the Chinese wallpaper, try on Regency clothes-including learning to bow and curtsy and enjoyed looking at the dolls house. And that was just the morning!
After a lovely lunch in the sunshine the children had time playing around trees and collecting leaves. Then we went on a treasure hunt with viewers and to look at some of the tree specimens and even the gardener's tool shed.
The children were absolutely fantastic. They were asking interesting questions, listened beautifully and were really enthusiastic. Their behaviour was also superb. They did us proud.
In science this week we explored magnetic materials. We had trouble finding metals that were not magnetic. Maybe you could look for something at home.
