Magical maths

This week the children have been learning a new strategy for adding two numbers confidently. We began the week with big maths on the floor and playground moving objects around and working in teams to solve problems. The children have learned about tens and units and we even got on to carrying from the units to the tens column. (If they make a tower of ten in the units column) The children have all done really well at developing this skill. Their Home Learning this weekend is a follow up to the learning in class this week so hopefully they will be able to teach you how to do it.
We also started a new book...'I want my hat back' which raised the mystery of what did bear do to the rabbit?

On Friday in forest school the children shared some lovely Autumn poems and made their own poet tree to mark National Poetry day.

A quick reminder (nag) please ensure that the children's spelling cards are in school on a Thursday and their Home Learning books are in on Wednesday. Some of the children are not yet getting out their little book bags in the morning which means that they are not getting books changed. We do remind them every morning but some are forgetting this.

Challenge: Can you learn a short poem?
