Autumn Fun

This week has flown by...Halloween, All Saints Day and getting excited about Bonfire Night has helped to make this an exciting week for everyone. On top of that an idyllic time in the woods for Forest School enjoying the Autumn leaves with their colours and sounds to stimulate the senses.
The children were contentedly busy with all sorts of activities. Fire lighting, leaf rubbing, Saw dust Rangoli patterns, squirrel feeders, slack line, making kindling, noun phrases and sentence building as well as tomato soup cooked by the children. It truly was a special time.
On top of that the children have been fantastic in their efforts to develop their phonics and grammar understanding and in their maths learning too.

Year 2 children have brought home new spelling books today. These have spellings in that support their learning in class. Please move on to learning these instead of their spelling cards although they still need to know those spellings over the course of this year.

I hope you have a lovely time on Bonfire Night. Maybe you could write down some firework sound words, find a fireworks poem or even write your own poem.
